Removing IFAS E-mail Aliases

Background: The committee was involved in the decision to move to the "GatorLink@ufl.edu" e-mail address format and understood the background information supplied via recommendation of the ICC.

Discussion: This revolved around not causing problems by removing aliases without sufficient notice. That was an issue only with item #3 of the ICC proposal.

Recommendation: The ITPAC committee recommends that

1. All new accounts should be created only with technically necessary aliases.
2. IFAS IT should provide a means for individuals to view and opt-out of technically unnecessary aliases.

Further investigation should be done to develop acceptable procedures for completing the process of transitioning to GatorLink@ufl.edu as our official business address.
